Bromley Green travelled to Elham in the first of a tough run of fixtures in opening month of the season, with a squad of 14 only to see keeper Dave Stapley fail the fitness test meaning a reshuffle of the side. The new look green side looked lovely with chances falling to Alfie Tough who shot wide when through on goal, Wayne Donovan also saw a goal bound effort blocked and Tough again slicing wide from a tight angle after nice play, Greens line was holding firm and we were looking more likely to take the lead, only for a long diagonal taking out the back line for Elham to open scoring, 2 more in quick succession changed the game with 35 gone. And 2 more in quick succession from breaking the lines with pin point crosses finished the game by half time.
2nd half saw green come out with the intention of focussing on our game as we build towards the season while we started to play it took a worldy from about 40 yards into the top corner to break down a very spirited Luke Harcourt who was like a 1 man wall, 2 more goals in jury time finished off the game, with green suffering a number of knocks to players and having to rotate heavily. Opppsition man of match for Green Harrison Petkin, we pick ourselves up and go again Saturday.
