In a fiercely contested match between Bromley Green Football Club and Pilgrims FC, Bromley Green emerged victorious with a thrilling 4-3 win.
Green kicked off the game with determination, and their efforts quickly paid off when Prince Woghiren found the back of the net just 7 minutes into the match, giving his team an early lead. However, Pilgrims responded swiftly, equalizing to make it 1-1 after 13 minutes of play.
After a period of Green domination, it was Pilgrims who took the lead after 38 minutes with a cross-come-shot beating green keeper Matt Kingsford. But the lettuces refused to be deterred, and just before halftime, Fen Haylett delivered a crucial shot from the edge of the box that nestled in the opposition net, levelling the score at 2-2 as the teams headed into the break.
The second half proved just as intense, Green once again taking the lead thanks to another goal from Prince Woghiren, making it 3-2 after 55 minutes. However, Pilgrims capitalised on a quick free kick and just 2 minutes after going 3-2 up, Green were pegged back to 3-3.
With tensions running high, it was Fen Haylett who proved to be the hero for Bromley Green, scoring his second goal of the match at the 75-minute mark, again a well placed shot from the edge of the box, deceiving the Pilgrims keeper and making it 4-3 to the Green.
As the clock ticked down, Green made several strategic substitutions, bolstering their defence and maintaining their lead. The additions of Billy Cassidy, Johnny Cassidy, Lewis Hyde, and Matthew Jones proved instrumental in seeing out the victory.
When the final whistle blew, it was Bromley Green who emerged triumphant with a hard-fought 4-3 win over Pilgrims, showcasing their resilience and determination throughout the match.
Well done to the entire squad on this result, taking them above Pilgrims in the table and up to 5th!
